True North HQ is a grassroots movement of volunteers from all across Canada.
The group started on social media in February 2025 in response to the actions of the current U.S. administration and later grew when additional members met outside the US consulate in Toronto on March 4, 2025 hoping to find other like-minded individuals. Realizing there was a lack of coordinated action, we decided to team up and fill the gap.
Our goal is to build a community both online and by organizing events that unite people in peaceful, non-violent protest during this challenging time. We also aim to support others in promoting and organizing similar events in their own communities.
We are a collective of individuals and not affiliated with any political party or other organization.
Guiding Principles
Our movement stands as a unified expression of solidarity and hope, rooted in the shared values of democracy, justice and fundamental human rights.
- Defending Democracy: We believe in a government that is chosen by the people, reflects their voices, is accountable to them, and acts in the best interests of its citizens.
- Upholding Justice: We believe our system must protect the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and remain committed to fairness, equity, and due process while ensuring that justice is impartial and accessible.
- Protecting Human Rights: We vow to defend the rights of every individual to life, liberty and security of person, regardless of their race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, language of communication, country of origin, socioeconomic status, political positions or their opinions.
Guided by these principles, we stand together to protect our Canadian values.
